Proactive monitoring for stable service delivery
For a telecom operator, stable and secure service for its customers is critical. That’s why we conduct remote battery tests to monitor the health of the batteries in Proximus’ data centers and technical buildings. This enables Proximus to assess the status of its systems and identify vulnerabilities. If any safety issues emerge during battery tests, we have a team of experts on standby to provide solutions and ensure the adequate protection of Proximus’ systems and infrastructure.
vmanager: the heart of building management solutions
Battery testing is managed through our software platform vmanager, the core of VMA’s building management solutions. This platform enables our client to monitor installations and buildings, assess system status and performance, and take control via a user-friendly interface. With vmanager now implemented in approximately 300 locations—and plans to scale to over 1,000 buildings—Proximus gains a complete, real-time overview of technical installations, comfort levels, temperatures, and network performance across all these sites. This allows for proactive and swift responses to any problems or outages that could impact customer satisfaction.

We are now systematically collecting this data in what we call a ‘data lake’ (e.g., floor area, temperature, total energy consumption, etc.). This should allow us, in a later phase, to analyze how we can improve energy use in these buildings and take the necessary actions accordingly.”

In other words, the detailed reports and analytics from vmanager also offer valuable insights into energy consumption within the data centers and technical buildings. Based on this, we can collaborate with Proximus to identify optimization opportunities and propose concrete actions to save energy and reduce the ecological footprint in the future.
