A sustainable future for PET recycling in Belgium
Located in Couillet, Filao will occupy a 17,000 m² facility to process 40,000 tons of bottles annually. This represents approximately 70% of the PET bottles collected and sorted by Fost Plus through Belgium’s blue bag system.
The recycled material will be used in the production of new bottles within the SOURCES ALMA group, one of Europe’s leading producers of natural spring and mineral water.
Thanks to Filao, Belgium now has a local PET bottle recycling system. In addition to its positive environmental impact, the project is also creating 40 new jobs.
One strong team with multidisciplinary expertise
Since January 2023, VMA’s locations in Jumet and Alleur (specialized in HVAC, plumbing, and cooling) and the location in Louvain-la-Neuve (specialized in electrical installations) have joined forces to form a single company. VMA Sud now offers integrated multidisciplinary expertise, enabling coordinated execution of all technical installations for industrial and commercial buildings.
Projects such as FILAO are a testament to this collaboration. VMA Sud carried out all HVAC, medium- and low-voltage electrical installations for a total project value of €5,440,000.
